Friends don't let friends roll d20s.

Of the two private IRC Golf leagues that I know about, an anonymous member of one of the leagues put forward ten cents per point that is earned in the league, with an upper limit of $1,000, or 10,000 points. The donation will be made to Return to Honor, a deserving non-profit organization that assists non-violent criminals reintegrate into society after they have honorably served their prison sentences. Paraphrasing their website, “Currently, the rate at which these individuals return to prison is about 70%, and given our prison population today, dropping that repeat crime rate (recidivism) from 70 to 60% will reduce the prison population by over 500,000 people.”

At the end of the 2010 season, the donor will make his donation of up to $1,000 to Return to Honor. Even though we, as a company, haven’t created a public IRC Golf League yet, you can be sure that we’re happy to hear that some of the things we’ve come up with are being used by the forces of good. The feeling is possibly quite the opposite of what Nobel thought of the use of dynamite in war. It can be said that we feel good about this, and we’ll pet the warm fuzzies we get from this as long as we can before we get back to work on super secret squirrel projects. If we told you what we’re working on, we’d have to kill you.
