Kickstarter project for the 44th piece of artwork is now underway…

So, I’ve been a bit slow in posting here; and if you didn’t already hear about this from five other places on the Internet, know that we’re on to our 3rd piece on Kickstarter (we just had to start with the 42nd piece of card art for SIN). We changed up a thing or two with this one as per usual.

I’d love you for backing Paradice Games; though if you can’t afford to pay attention, much less backing us, then I invite you to help spread the word. For your convenience, here’s a link to the piece on Kickstarter. The artwork itself will be kept secret, though we may reveal a detail or two as the funding bit is underway.

It’s already been a year?

Time travels fast. Or, perhaps it is we that travel fast through time. As 2010 comes to a close, we look back at what we accomplished and what we are already planning on accomplishing this next year. So, here we go…

Stuff we did in 2010:
Two benefit tournaments resulting in $60 to Outside In and $250 to Return to Honor.
Built pages for Facebook and Twitter.
Finished our first project on Kickstarter successfully. (info on our Backers page)
Moved from a fully manual to semiautomatic IRC Golf League

Stuff we expect to do in 2011:
Continue one on-going tournament (IRC Golf) and host two tournaments in May.
Finish card artwork for SIN, our upcoming card game.
Automate IRC Golf.
Resume “The Story So Far”
Win the lottery.
Conquer the world.
Build a base on the moon.
Mandate that Norwegian as the mandatory global language.

For any (or all) holidays you celebrate this season, may they be full of win!

We can’t kick the can… we’re kicking starters instead.

A few days ago we began our first project on Kickstarter; the 42nd card for SIN, our first card game. We did not want to leave anyone out of the loop, and are making desktop wallpapers and signed prints of the artwork available to those who back us. At time of writing, only $26.50 is needed to hit 100% funding. Get in while the gettin is good!

Rollin’

Before it was converted into a pile of bloody goo, a somewhat strong and illiterate creature ignored the magical splashes of blood on the outside of the boulder. It could here interesting sounds coming from the inside of the cave, and the smell of brimstone somehow reminded it of what it had for dinner a few weeks ago. Oh, it was hungry. It walked uphill the last couple of feet to the boulder and shoved it aside. Unfortunately, this hapless creature had not developed a firm sense of the process by which gravity works.

The boulder began to roll and the hapless creature backed up, tripping over a pair of fluttering butterflies in the middle of a long-standing domestic dispute. The butterflies wanted to live longer than the hapless creature, and flew out of the way of the advancing rock. Crack! Snap! Crunch! (we can’t follow that with ‘Pop!’ unless we’re referring to breakfast cereal…), and the boulder ran amok on its way down the hill. There are some small settlements in the valley that owe the GM some dexterity-based saving throws. A boulder covered in blood left a gooey mess behind that was once a hapless creature. Work stopped inside the cave, as everything there looked outside to see what disturbed their work…

Do Not Disturb

Back at the cave, the old beast lay sleeping. Around him, the ruddish-colored imp popped back in and out of Hell, making the place smell of brimstone a little more than before every time. The goblins who were responsible for the cave gutters returned and rolled a boulder up to the mouth of the cave. The words, “Do Not Disturb” appeared in blood in such a manner that no matter what language you could read, you understood the meaning behind it. Of course, if you are illiterate, like most of the goblins who moved the boulder up to the grassy gnoll, then the written warning did you little to no good.

The smell of brimstone seeped into the open air around the edges of this big, round boulder. The smell was just distracting enough to make you forget the sounds of slavery taking place from within the cave. Though, every now and then a whip would crack and a scream would wail through the imperfect wall.
